Really enjoyable match today. Both teams played a part in a fantastic end to end performance. Although their late equaliser was a bitter pill to swallow I think a draw was a fair result. Fantastic vocal following from Witton today, makes a hell of a difference when supporters get behind a team. The full time whistle was greeted with delight by the Witton contingent who were obviously delighted to have played their "get out of jail" card and got the draw. In my permanent half glass empty point of view, I think we'll be lucky to progress and claim the £3 grand prize money by winning the replay, but I've been known to be wrong ! But wouldn't it be great if we could all gather together and give Boro' the vocal support that the Witton fans gave their team today? Admittedly, I've issues with a few supporters of the club and they have made their point of view clear as to how they regard me via the unofficial forum from which I am banned, however, if those people actually knew about the amount of effort and money I have put in to supporting the club in the past, perhaps they wouldn't feel able to post the comments they have. I'm prepared to draw a line under all of this, provided that others agree to do the same. Lets start a new era of really getting behind the Boro' - gather behind the goal we are attacking and give a decent amount of verbal support ! (can't be there myself though if YCFC are at home - lad's love comes first !)

It's funny how your mind tends to wander at football, i could have sworn i saw Charlie Drake in Whitton's dugout . Anyway, Boro started hot, infact so hot we were on fire, Richard Chiwawa,,,,,I can never remember his name,,,,,,was terrrier like as he terrorised the Whitton defence, 3 great 20yd drives, 1st hit the post, 2nd and 3rd narrowly wide, Whitton then came close with a goalmouth mel'e which Caulkin snuffed out with a superb save. 35mins in and some forward link up play resulted in another fine Ricardo goal, top right corner. Boro were on top as half time came 1 nill the Boro. After the pigeon omen at Durham last week, a flock of geese flew over,,, hell i thought, were in for a flaming cricket score here YAHOO !. . .2nd half started well again for Boro, couple of long drives just over the bar from Joana showed Boro wern't backing off from their attacking mode of play under Gerry. Who in my humble oppinion has turned the team around in belief, style of play, entertaining positive football and a massive will to WIN games. Whitton supporters screamed for a penalty, their player got booked for diving, , 8 outa 10 for me. Another penalty shout, 6 outa 10 for that one as Whitton supporters tried to dismantle the back stand. Some good flowing even football followed, there were lot's of OOH'S and AHH'S as Boro pushed on. Caulkin made another great save , was it gona be Boro's day as the final mins drew closer ?. Another penalty shout from the noisy Whitton crowd, the least claim for a pen of the 3, the ref felt the heat and gave it, wrongly. Caulkin dove the right way but it skimmed just under his body, leavig Boro with a trip to Whitton on wednesday. At least, as with the Take That show we won't have to quew up for 48 hrs and pay a fortune for tickets, we can walk straight in, pay a nominal fee, and then watch the Charlie Drake show all over again ............. Unlike boroman, my cup is always half full, and i think we,ll stuff em. When Charlie, sorry the Whitton manager, with 5 mins to go, and only on a draw result, was screaming to his players to GET IT IN THE CORNER, GET IT IN THE CORNER, GET IT IN THE CORNER, he knew his team had been under the cosh. I thought for a min it was a new Take That song. Whitton crowd left singing and dancing to the throngs of SAN QUENTIN. And yes they certainly did get outa JAIL
