It is with regret to announce that Kevin Glendon has resigned from Radcliffe Borough Football Club with immediate effect as of the Clitheroe game on the 25th September.
Bernard Manning Jnr made the following statement of Stalwart Kevin Glendon's departure after Todays 1-0 victory over Bamber Bridge
"I wish to thank Kevin for all his hard work and efforts that he has put into the club over the last 2 decades. He was a part of the life and soul of the club in which he has ran next to single handedly during his time here and we wish to thank him for all the good times we have had with him, and I am sure that the fans do feel the same way about his time here at the club. Myself along with everyone with any relation to the club would wish him all the best and the best of luck for any future management roles or projects that he moves onto."
This resignation ends Kevin's 21 year relationship with the club, the 2nd longest of any current management reign in English Football, only that of Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United beating Kevin.
During his time, He has led the club to the 1st Round of the FA Cup for the 1st time in 2000 then the 4th Qualifying round in 2002 and 2005, as well as the last 16 of the FA Trophy in 1996, winning the Unibond 1st Division (Step 3 era) in 1997 along with also 2 seasons in the then Step 2 Unibond Premier., Victory in the Manchester FA Premier Cup, and the Final of the Unibond Presidents cup and Lancashire FA Challenge. He also helped Jody Banim and Craig Dawson into Football League careers (the latter of which plays for a Premier League club) as well as bringing club icons Simon Kelly, Martyn Forrest, Ian Lunt, Levi Edwards, Steve Howson and Mark Dempsey to the club
Gerry Luczka has took over as Caretaker manager for the time being with a view to becoming Full Time Manager
A Supporters Meeting has been called for This Thursday to discuss how we can move forward.
