Not wanting to sound like sour grapes etc... because today the lads did there best but the strength of the Chorley side was too much, and we probably did not deserve anything, however is it just me or does anybody else have similar thoughts on non leagues answer to Phil Dowd!!! We have had this guy a few times now, one of the last times was v Chorley where he made some incredible decisions that day as well. Today I felt he just strutted about a little bit too 'big time' and missed some shocking tackles on one or two of our boys, namely a scissor kick on Tom Brooke's head, and a couple of two footed tackles, one in the first half on Ally Brown and another on Ben Manning which went totally unpunished. Add to that two penelties which the first where so soft nobody would have complaned from Chorley if it had not have been given, and the second a classic tangle of legs between the two players, as I said, no excuses for the result, but this ref does not seem to give us much every time we have him. Talking to a player after the game, he simply said you could not speak to the ref, he just would not listen and was 'up himself' etc, anyway onto Salford. Lets hope we have a decent man in the middle.
